Summer is Officially Over

Tanner, Ellen, Drew Davidson, Trent Groesbeck
and Lori at the Drive-in movie

Summer is over, so if you want to dedicate
some time, here is a sample of some of our
summer activities and mile stones. We loved
our trips and being with family. I am sorry in
advance that some of the pictures I downloaded
got lost somewhere and many of them are out of order
but you'll get the picture...WE had lots of fun!

Saying goodbye to Riley was really sad...but he
is so happy living his dream of being a BYU Cougar!

Thankfully, Riley has the bottom bunk.

The three-pack getting ready to para-sail!
I had nothing to worry about, it was a blast.

On the ferry to Catalina Island

Cute Marissa and Enoch joined us at Santa Monica
Pier for boogy-boarding and dinner.

Just driving by...we saw the Los Angelos Temple

Riley enjoying a "real" Tommy burger.

Gary and Aunt Shirley. We stopped by her
house in La Mirada for a quick visit.

We were so glad that Matt, Stacy and Graham
were able to join the Utah Serafines for the
weekend in Las Vegas to help the Groesbecks
celebrate Paul and Karalyn's wedding. We loved
getting a little Graham time!

The Powell Family. We had a really scary
thunder-lightening storm and thanks to Kelli
and Jake bringing their trailer, we took refuge!

What a beautiful lake and backdrop for an
afternoon of horseback riding and canoeing.

See...we are canoers!

Allison's 21st birthday

Our trip to Kansas in early June. Water fun, zoo,
birthday celebration, patriotism, parks, dancing,
painting, shelf building! We loved every second!

Riley and the sleepy cousins at the drive-in movie

Jane and Annie at the zoo. They were little
troopers and walked most of the way.

The pergola. Dad built the pergola this spring.
He did a wonderful job and we have enjoyed the
shade all summer long.

Riley graduated in June. Kelli, Allison, Riley
and Grandma and Grandpa were able to attend.

These whiskers were with us until Riley moved
to Provo! We really appreciated them.

Seminary Graduation.

Grandpa and Grandma Bradshaw with Riley at
High School graduation.

Early in the spring, Judy invited us to join her
and Ellen for a quick trip to St. George to get
away from our awful weather. We played tennis,
saw a movie, ate out, enjoyed blues skies,
and loved the Davidson's new home away from home.

Kelli's 26th birthday!

We celebrated our 31st anniversary
this year by trying something new.
We cooked lobster tails and steak for dinner.
Let's just say...next time we will go out!

Gary's 54th Burthday!

Ellen Davidson waiting to get going down to
St. George. She was hilarious!

Carraba's Chicken Bryan

I should probably make my own blog but I don't ever have anything that great or exciting to blog about. Today since we returned from the family reunion around noon I decided to try a new recipe. We've been to Carraba's a few times before and I've ordered the chicken bryan and it always delicious and so tonight I made that for dinner. Here's the link if anyone would like to try it http://www.food.com/recipe/original-carrabbas-chicken-bryan-not-copycat-361631. I didn't add as much lemon juice and substituted white grape juice for the white wine. It turned out so good! Here's some pictures to enjoy since you can't taste it!

to feed the need...

Just in case you wanted some more coupon deals...  : )

Here are some really great deals at Target... some extreme couponing deals.  : )  One of the many things I love about Target is that you can usually get medications for really cheap or free.  By using the printable coupons on their website and other manufacturers coupons, you can get some great stuff.  When you use a Target coupon, you can also use an manufacturer coupon on the same item...  (Click on the links to see the details.  I found these deals on The Krazy Coupon Lady and others)

Suave

Zantac

Dulcolax (Don't be embarrased.  : )  Save them for "just in case.")

Banana Boat

Good luck!  PS.  Kelli, I'm a little jealous of your band-aids,  : )

Extreme Couponing...well, not really.

Ever since I've seen the show "Extreme Couponing" I have to admit that I have wanted to start couponing. But, since I don't have much time I kind of just think about it and don't really do anything about it. Well, Jake found some manufacturers coupons for $1 off any Nexcare product. We had heard that Walmart had bandaids on a roll back price for $1 making our bandaids free...but in true Walmart fashion they were all sold out. It just so happens that today I stopped by a Walmart in Riverton and found 6 of them. I quickly checked out and felt so proud of myself. Then I happened to be by the Walmart in Cedar Hills and picked up a few more. I got a total of 10 for just 68 cents (41 cents at the first one and 27 cents at the second one)!!!! Now, I am not sure what I'll do with these bandaids, but I like them neatly stored on my shelf. Couponing is pretty fun. Maybe I'll find some more stuff in the future!

Powerade on sale at Smiths

So I stopped by Smith's today and found that powerade is on sale for 69 cents each. Does anyone know of any coupons I could combine to get these for even cheaper? Any help would be appreciated!

END OF AN ERA AT WJHS

We attended our final principal's dinner tonight at West Jordan High School. It may even be our last event ever at WJHS. I felt a twinge of sadness, as we have appreciated the good teachers, activities, and education our children received there. Dad and I loved watching you all perform in, and enjoy the choir concerts, basketball, tennis, preschool events, dances, seminary, graduations, NHS, and all activities the school had to offer. It has been a good school, it must have been...because it produced at least six really good students. Riley was recognized with a surprise award. He received the Sid Beverage Memorial Scholarship. For those of you who don't know, Sid Beverage was a former principal at the school who passed away in the 1990's, and whose family sponsors the scholarship. We appreciate the family for the generosity of which Riley will benefit. Congratulations Riley! You are awesome.

Wedding Reception

We had the reception at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper. We had only one hour to set things up. Thank you to all who helped get us ready to go. It all looked really beautiful. Allison and Riley were very pleased. Here are some of the pictures we took before and at the reception.

Wedding Luncheon

The Wilson's hosted a lovely and delicious luncheon in honor of Riley and Allison. They served Costa Vita burritos. Everyone really enjoyed everything. Thank You Wilsons!
