Since nobody else will blog
I woke up this morning determined to do something...something other than clean the house and just hang out. I decided to do a craft. Me, a craft.... The Brandon's gave me a cute picture of the Salt Lake Temple for my birthday and I've wanted a shelf for awhile so this is what I came up with. I'd say that for my lack of creativity that this looks pretty good. Hope you all had a productful Saturday.

Gary and Lori Going to Pot...Well, The Melting Pot
We recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and were treated to a wonderfully unique dining experience by our wonderful children. Allison and Katelyn saw us off and took these pictures of us before we left. Alli even fixed my hair and took pics of me wearing a flower in my hair??? So, here is the rundown of our big date. Saturday night we went downtown to The Melting Pot, where we enjoyed the finest foundue dinner. They started us off with the spinach, artichoke cheese fondue, followed by salad, then steak, salmon, chicken, shrimp, and then topped off with the most luscious chocolate fondue ever (the strawberries were the best!) Dad and I loved the whole dinner, but mostly we love our great family. Thank you all for thinking of us and treating us to such a fun night out on the town! We finished the date off by seeing Robin Hood at Gateway and got home way after we should have.

Spring Vacation
We never blogged about our fantastic trip to both Arizona and Kansas. Most of you know all about it, but we will share a few of the pictures we took anyway(we must not like our own children, because we only came away with pictures of us and our granddaughters! Sorry B&M and M&S). First of all we spent a couple of nights with Matt and Stacy, where we were treated well. They provided a good bed and meals, warm sunny weather, kickback days and delightful company. Dad and I even ventured out alone to a Botanical Garden full of crazy looking cactus. We then flew off to Wichita where we were greeted by Mandy and two delightful little girls sitting in the backseat of their car. Jane remembered us, but Annie was not so sure when Dad crawled in next to her. However, they made quick friends when Dad played hide and go seek/and a peek a boo game all weekend with both of them. At Bradley and Mandy's house we were treated well too. They provided a good bed and meals, a wonderful zoo, and a backyard full of wildlife such as bunnies and squirrels(half park/half forest). It was really special for Dad to have the opportunity to ordain Bradley to the office of High Priest. We were so glad that coincided with our visit. We also got to tour Bradley's office, which was amazing. We loved being with the girls. Cutest little girls ever! They are an absolute delight, even at 4:00 in the morning when Jane came pitter-pattering down the stairs looking for us! The weekend over, we flew back to Arizona, where we enjoyed another couple of days with Matt and Stacy. Dad and Matt played another good tennis match, Stacy helped me cut out a bunch of letters and shapes with her amazing machine, had a great night (perfect weather) at the D-backs game and we enjoyed baby carrots from their wonderful garden. We also have to mention beating them at a game of Catch Phrase the night before we came home!! Needless to say, we had such a good time visiting with them all. It is fun to see their lovely homes, jobs, school, and the good lives they are all living. We are so proud of you all. Thanks to all of them for the wonderful hospitality!!
Riley's RegionTournament
Last week was Riley's Region Tennis Tournament. He beat both Kearns and Riverton for a second place finish. The first day was moved up because of rainy/snowy weather and was played at the Kearns tennis complex and the second day was played at the bubble at the Sports Mall. Riley really came on strong in the second half of the season. Well done!! You can look for him at the State tournament next Friday and Saturday.
Riley's Jr. Prom
Riley attended West Jordan's Jr. Prom last night. Actually, it started with a crepe breakfast and trampolines in the morning. His date was a cute girl named Danielle. Later in the afternoon, they came back to our house for us to meet her and take pictures, then they went to the Asian Star for dinner. Those of you who think a 1996 Ford Contour doesn't deserve to be valet parked have another thing coming! Following dinner, his group drove up to the state capitol where they prominaded down the spectacular staircase. After the dance, they went over to the Clark planetarium to see the Dark Side of the Moon light show and then home before curfew. He says he had a really fun time, by the way, he looked really handsome all dressed up in his tuxedo.
